| Directions to Polock Pines |
Polock Pines Outdoor and Equestrian Experience campground is located 6 miles NNE of Alvord, Wise County, Texas adjacent to the Pony Express gates to the orange trails to the LBJ Grasslands, 1/4 mile NE of the intersection of CR2677 and CR2690, at 1814 CR2690.

Since Mapquest and GoogleMaps plot this poorly, here are two directions to get there from downtown Alvord;
From Business US 287 in downtown Alvord (this is the 'main intersection'), north on FM1655, turn right on first street immediately across the RR tracks, Pine Street, then three blocks (including the gravel street) to Shankel Street (unmarked; follow Bethel Church sign), Left one block to Beyette Street, Right (again, follow Bethel Church sign) to first left, CR2690; then 5.3 miles along winding road to sharp bend to right (CR2677). Bethel Church sign will point you to the right, but continue straight at bend, still on CR2690 but now on gravel road, 1/4 mile to black pipe fence-cattle guard on left. YOU ARE THERE!
Alternate route; From RR tracks, north on FM 1655 4.9 miles to FS908 and the entrance to unit 14 of the Grasslands. Right on FS 908, a winding gravel road, approx 2.8 miles to dead end at CR2690 (this is the Roadrunner gate to orange trail / unit 15 of the grasslands). Left 1/4 mile to bend on road to right (CR2677). Continue straight on CR2690 1/4 mile to black pipe fence-cattle guard on left, and YOU ARE THERE! (This route crosses the orange trails several times)
