TRAIL RIDER NOTICE
Heavy rains in the LBJ Grasslands may cause problems in the Cottonwood Creek crossings of the yellow and blue trails, specifically near the Royal Gorge gate and the Step-Thru /Audubon gates area. Also, the Deer Creek crossing at the Deer Creek gate on the orange trail may be difficult. Ride with caution in these areas.
|
At the entrance to the Polock Pines Outdoor and Equestrian Experience, you are also at the gate to the Orange Trail System.

Diana and Jill along with other membrs of the Trinity Trails Preservation Association came out to enjoy the trails and the grounds. These gals are just too cool.

| Main road into campsites |
|
The circlular access road into the campsites make an easy in-and-out of your chosen site. You may find yourself driving in circles before you can decide which of the 9 treed, large, and graveled spots is right for you.The sites are grouped in 2, 3 and 4 sets sites. Sites 1, 2 and 3 are the oversize sites adjacent to the on-site pens. Sites 4, 5, 6, and 7, pictured here, are the first spots in the circle. Campsites 8 and 9 are the 'most private' group at the end of the grounds.

| KANSAS INVADES TEXAS !
A group connected to Roy-Frey Western Lifestyles of Topeka, Kansas hooked up with friends from central Texas and enjoyed the trails for 5 days in March. These seasoned riders had a great time, riding 14-15 miles each day. The weather was spectacular for them, and the recently worked trails made for ideal conditions.
These folks know how it's done. Their 37' digs fit nicely in the large campsites.
The LBJ Grasslands is a wonderful place to ride, and Polock Pines' location makes a great base. Your camp will be behind locked gates while you ride the Grasslands. No need to load and reload your horse here.
We fully expect to host the fine people of Kansas again. We will have no problems issuing them visas to cross the Red River!

We Do Green
Just so you know, we do not apply ANY insecticides or herbicides. You can rest assured that whatever your animal is nibbling on, there is no chemical content. Many folks have suggested we apply certain chemicals to eliminate those pesky briars that may catch you from time to time, we just WON'T DO IT. It's good for you, good for your animals, and, we think, just a good environmental idea. We ask you to do your part in two ways; (1) not burning inorganics (plastics) in your campfire, and (2) pack out what you pack in. THANKS !
